Hello! It’s been so long!
Well, I’m sitting here struggling to get through my first batch of coffee, and enjoying a snack, while dealing with multiple headaches on the blogging front. This week my site was hacked to bits and M. is strenuously devoted to clearing out all of the nasty boo boo’s, to restore this site back to a clean bill of health. Unfortunately, there are still some kinks to sort through.
My sidebar widgets for whatever reason aren’t saving changes, for example, or playing nicely. I have tried updating them several times, but the widgets are frozen. This obviously needs further tinkering but, for now, expect wonky sidebar action.
Just wanted to check in as I have been absent from the blogging community this week, so I suspect I’ve got a LOT of catching up to do. Meanwhile, I will be here (trying to update/repair this damned website).
=^..^=
Sorry to hear that your site got hacked this week, there seems to be a bit of that going around lately. Good luck on getting everything back up and running as it should.
Sorry to hear you were hacked. Hope you’ll get back up full fource soon!
It appears that many sites are being hacked lately. This is a problem and I am sorry to hear that you are being affected.
My one instance of advice is to change your wordpress table prefixes in your database. Hackers know this prefix and will inject sql into wordpress blogs to exploit them. If you change the table prefixes, then it is one more security step. There are many great articles online about doing it.
Glad you’re back up. I tried to pop over earlier in the week and saw you were down. It’s no fun being hacked. My webmaster got hacked a few months ago and she’s still bitter about it.
Sorry to hear you were hacked. What a pain. Hope you have changed all of your passwords as well.
glad you’re back! sorry for all the trouble, some people really have to get a life!
Glad you are back! Can’t wait for the new posts.
Sometimes I feel like sidebars are like humpty Dumpty. Once they break, they never go back together again.
Nasty and deepest sympathies. Install WordFence as well as Akismet or BadBehavior, and check all files and database entries for base64 encoded links, particularly in the theme files.
I haven’t been able to access your site from work because of the firewall! I thought maybe you got a bug! Hope all is well, I am on my iPad tonight!
Thank you all for the supportive words and useful advice. Grr, what a headache.
